Rich Spence is a fintech entrepreneur, business leader, real estate investor, and, first and foremost, a family-first husband and father. Coming from a long line of entrepreneurs, Rich was raised around business, risk-taking, and the belief that building something of your own matters.
In 1998, Rich founded inContact, one of the first client relationship management platforms built specifically for the Canadian financial industry. Under his leadership, inContact grew to serve approximately 80% of mortgage professionals across Canada, including Royal Bank of Canada. The company was successfully acquired in 2010 and later became part of Manulife Financial.
Following the sale, Rich joined Manulife to lead the Mortgage Creditor Insurance division, overseeing the Mortgage Protection Plan for Canadian homeowners. He went on to become President of Mortgage Centre Canada (MCC), a national network of more than 2,800 mortgage professionals.
Launched one of Canada’s first CRM platforms for the financial industry. Grew to serve ~80% of mortgage professionals nationally, including Royal Bank of Canada.
inContact was acquired and integrated into Manulife Financial. Rich remained with the company to lead the Mortgage Creditor Insurance division and oversee the Mortgage Protection Plan.
Led MCC, a national network of over 2,800 mortgage professionals helping Canadians navigate one of the most important financial decisions of their lives.
Alongside his wife Kathy, Rich continues to build and manage a growing portfolio of rental homes and multi-unit properties. Buy on Baltic is the playbook they wish they’d had from day one.
